Did You Know?

…that the church we read about in the New foro Testament met every first day of the week to partake of the Lord’s Supper (communion)? They didn’t just partake of it on special occasions, but they did it regularly. Luke wrote, “Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continue his message until midnight” (Acts 20:7).
This verse tells us the day they partook of the Supper, the first day of the week. It was not partaken of on Monday, Tuesday nor any other day of the week except on Sunday. It also reveals to us how often they partook of it as well. If they partook of it on the first day of the week, every week has a first day, then that implies they partook of it every first day of week. consultation? Even history verifies wholesale jerseys that New Testament Christians meet every first day of the week to break bread. We at the Westwood church of Christ follow this New Testament pattern.
